Doug became a REALTOR® in 1984. He has held the Market Value Appraiser® (Residential) designation from the Canadian Real Estate Association since 1991, and the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR®) designation from the National Association of REALTORS® in the United States since 1994. He is also a member of the “Lifetime Achievement Award” and “Hall of Fame Award” with RE/MAX International.
Doug has previously served on the LSTAR Finance Committee, the Rules & Regs Task Force and the Brokers Issues Advisory Group. In 2008, he sits on both the Filogix DMS and Brokers Issues Advisory Groups.
Originally from Parkhill, Ontario, Doug and his wife Jeanette live south of Grand Bend near the shores of Lake Huron. They have three sons: Aaron, who attends University in Iowa; Mark, who attends the University of Windsor; and Garrette who attends North Lambton High School in Forest.
Doug attended the University of Western Ontario and lived in British Columbia and the Yukon for 10 years, working for Ducks Unlimited as an Engineering Technician and Area Manager. He was lucky to see most of B.C. during that time and continues to have a keen interest in travel. He also enjoys skiing, golf (son Aaron has a golf scholarship), and coaching hockey out of Lambton Shores. Doug sits on the Board of Directors of the Forest Seniors Housing Community Development and is a past member of the Port Franks Optimist Club.
